The nose is pleasant, with deep notes of chocolate spice and sugary fruits.
Nothing special on the palate, nice and smooth, sort of ripe, but didn't necessarily taste of a cheap wine. I must also admit I'm not a zin fan. It was drinkable for the price point and I'll leave it at that.

I'm not a huge fan of zins, and this wine is one of the reasons. While nothing is wrong w/ this wine, it strikes me as a bit flat, and is overbearing w/ notes of plum, ripe fruit, and general "port" style qualities. I wouldn't want to try and pair this w/ a food -- except maybe something like a rich duck dish.
