A more saturated ruby color than Farrell's Russian River Valley selection, the 2001 Starr Ridge shows notes of violets, cassis, and black raspberry perfume on the nose. On the palate the wine is full bodied, glyceral, detauiled, and well structured to age for 12 years or more. Delicious.
