Half Cabernet Sauvignon, a quarter Malbec, plus Merlot and Petite Verdot. This wine varries widely in price, because it is very hard to find and highly sought after.
Deep, dense, and rich with ample tannins, gobs of dark-berry fruits, black cherry and exotic spices. Has structure to spare, buy to hold and drink 2010 and there after. One of the most unique and compelling Napa wines I've had in years.

2004 Calafia Proprietary Red Wine Napa Valley
(68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Malbec, 10% Petit Verdot, 7% Merlot).
Outstanding and sophisticated! One of the most unique and exciting "Meritage" or "Proprietary Red" wines produced in Napa Valley of all that I have tasted this year. Approximately 350 cases made by Randle Johnson (of Hess, with long standing credits at Mayacamus, Stags Leap, Rutherford Hill -- to name just a few).
Deep, saturated ruby-red color with very intriguing aromas of brandy-soaked ripe cherries, cassis, Acacia flowers and exotic spices. Very pure and lush on entry with ultra-fine super silky tannins and beautiful balance and symmetry. The finish lingers and offers additional complexity and refinement.
A completely unique flavor profile (probably due to the hefty proportions of Malbec and Petit Verdot in the blend, and judicious use of new oak which really lets the fruit show through), this is a gorgeous wine to drink in it's youth, and it should continue to cellar well for at least a decade or more.
