I've been watching this producer carefully for the last several vintages. Earlier attempts were quite good, but the 2005 takes things to a new level. In fact I'd go so far as to say this qualifies as a quantum leap in Chardonnay quality.
The color of spun gold with aromas of pineapple, meyer lemon creme, and fresh white peaches. Juicy, unctuous, and packed with minerality supported by bright acidis. This is sleek, complex chardonnay that finishes long and invites sip after sip. Very multi-layered, super concentrated, and elegant. Major kudos are due to the winemaking team at Bonneau, this wine is as good as anything produced from the Carneros by Patz and Hall, or Ramey, or even Kistler for that matter. Remember you heard it here first.
