| 96-100 | Extraordinary | A wine of finesse, complexity, and expression. True to variety and region. Perfect balance of flavors with a long finish. |
| 90-95 | Excellent | True to variety and region, with terrific complexity and balance. While not a wine for the ages, a superior example. |
| 85-89 | Good | Meets your expectations, with sound flavors and balance. Might have limited complexity or be short on the palate. A sound wine. |
| 80-84 | Average | Drinkable, might not have as much varietal character. Simple flavors, no flaws, but nothing special. |

While describing grand cru white burgundies has always been difficult for me, drinking them never has. This is excellent. The color is like spun gold. The nose is redolent with candied lemons and crushed rocks. The wine has such an unctuosity in the palate that salivary glands you didn't know you had start pumping with the waves of concentrated flavors that abound in this wine. The finish lasts several minutes and leaves you begging for another sip. The price is nothing when you consider what it costs to go on a date, and most of my dates aren't nearly this much fun. If I could just find a wealthy heiress who needs a wine steward we could buy all of this and retire to an island...preferably one with a decent cave on it.
