Although this wine has some of the hints of what a good Barolo is all about it manages to ruin its essence. A tad over-tannic with little structure. Flavors of truffle and tar are present but they do not come out quite well.

I am in general not a big fan of Sancerre, but this is quite exceptional. It has an apple juice and citrus tasting fresh acidity and manages to be elegant about it while finishing very smoothly.

Another fantastic Nero D'Avola... this varietal does not stop surprising me. Medium bodied, consistent, and silky smooth, with pleasant aromas of berries. The flavors start out chalky but fruity then lead to an almost never ending dark chocolate finish. At this price this wine is a must try and must stock...

Strong aromas of berries, with a nice fruit forward taste that ends with hints of vanilla, oak, and burnt toast. Very good pinot at this price.

Shy to the nose but very pleasant flavors of cherry and plum usually associated with Chianti. Consistent tastes and smooth feel. This is a very good Classico.

This is a great Barbera that is heavier bodied and very fruity and also has falvors of chocolate. I could easily see this being mistaken for a Barolo in a blind tasting and for this price that is a great trait!

This wine is generally over-the-top in all aspects. There are strong aromas of berries, specially raspberry, in the nose. The wine's flavor is very fruity, with hints of pomegranate and liquorice. Overall, this wine just comes across as a little too strong for me.

After so many rave reviews I had to try this wine. This is indeed a fine chardonnay with delicious flavors of sweet apple, crème sucrée and healthy oakiness. The nose is also very pleasant and inviting with aromas of caramel and freshly baked apple pie. I think what makes this wine great is its ability to exhibit the characteristic of a heavy, creamy chard in a surprisingly subtle way.

Yet another step into the wonderful world of Nero D'Avola, and so far so good. This wine has a fruity nose and starts out with flavors of berries and creme de cassis that slowly transition into minted vanilla and maybe a bit of tobacco. A little acidic but overall well balanced, this is a great bang for the buck. Viva Sicilia!

This wine really tastes like a splendidly rich black forest cake. Tastes of dark chocolate infused with cherry and raspberry syrup lead to a nice and smooth cohiba cigar finish. Made with 25% Nero d'Avola, Sicily's signature red grape, this was a great introduction to Sicilian wine for me... can't wait to try others.

With a nose of freshly squeezed lemon, the first taste of this Riesling feels like biting into a granny smith apple. Light bodied with high levels of acidity, this might be a good one to accompany a nice curry dish.

Amazing set of complex flavors jump at you... bouquet of spices with a very long finish. It is amazing that a 100% sangiovese Chianti has so much complexity.

Has the more common characteristics of a Sangiovese wine: tastes of cherry and berries with a bit of a spicy end. Altough a good Chianti by any measure, this Ducale Oro shies in comparison with the 1999 vintage as it is a little flat and watery with a disappointingly sudden finish.

Typical heavy bodied Barossa Valley Shiraz with a punch. A little shy to the nose, this wine starts with strong berry flavors that transition into a smoky leather taste with a nice long finish. Give this wine at least 2 or 3 years in the cellar and it should be able to compete with some of the best Syrah's out there.
