Dec 30, 2006Concha Y Toro Merlot Casillero Del Diablo, 2004
Nice smooth supple tannins. Some berry action but mainly dry and earthy. This is one of the most dependable wines -- concha y toro and especially the "Casillero del Diablo" line. So step.
Dec 30, 2006Pouilly Fuisse, 2005
Very smooth and mild taste. Easy to drink. I mistakenly had this wine with a pizza (with crushed red pepper), so the body of the wine was hard to grab. I recommend having it by itself, on a warm day.
Dec 29, 2006Razor's Edge Shiraz Mclaren Vale, Australia, 2004
Give this baby a few years because it needs it, and prbly more. Have it with a steak paired w/ a lamb chop paired with some cotton to put in your mouth aftewards.
Strong, but nonetheless, if that's your thing then hit it. Fairly well balacned and nice color. Worth it if u find for cheap.
Dec 29, 2006Ravenswood Shiraz Vintners Blend, 2004
Not too bad. Better than their horrid berry-tastic zinfandel which should be labeled a dessert wine. This was a full bodied, strong, tannic and reasonably well rounded shiraz which was better than a yellowtail but worse than (most) penfolds.
Dec 29, 2006Ravenswood Shiraz Vintners Blend, 2004
I was not pleased with the immediate taste of this wine. Way too strong.
Dec 29, 2006Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages
This wine should only be served to those friends who want to avoid a hangover: the fewer tannins the less severe headache. A very light wine and also good for those who are trying to transition from white to red. Thanksgiving is the best time to uncork this light delight! Cheers
Dec 29, 2006Los Cardos Malbec, 2005
I like it. Little to no after taste. This wine helped me make a couple of friends on the street. I had it while breaking up with my boyfriend. Nothing too exciting.
Dec 29, 2006Los Cardos Malbec, 2005
This wine is deeply depressing. Serve only to your most vulnerable friends.....Cheers!
Dec 29, 2006Los Cardos Malbec, 2005
Smokey, watery mouthfeel, some cherry action + pretty tannic. Maybe could do well w/ a food but alone is not my thang.
Dec 28, 2006Frei Brothers Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley, 2004
Pretty smooth and a nice finish. Good for the price.
Dec 28, 2006Francis Coppola Diamond Collection Blue Label Merlot, 2004
Honestly, I thought this wine might have gone bad if my mom didn't love it so much. It had a really weird taste to it and I could not go on drinking it.
Dec 27, 2006Redwood Creek Merlot, 2005
This is the type of wine that is great after those two initial glasses of expensive wine. Don't serve this to your "expert" guests. Instead, save for those friends that reside in San Tenessee......Cheers!
Dec 24, 2006Penfolds Thomas Hyland Shiraz
Best Shiraz I've ever tasted. Gentle with a complex, lingering finish.
Dec 23, 2006Kendall Jackson Pinot Noir Vinters Reserve, 2001
Good balance, full, and for the price, a great Sonoma Pinot.
Dec 23, 2006Panarroz Jumilla, 2001
Ok, we got this wine for ONE DOLLAR! So take that into account w/ 73 points and you still have a good deal.
It amazes me they could even produce this for a dollar.
Dec 23, 2006Bonny Doon Cardinal Zin, 2003
Not bonny doons greatest effort, but still palatable. Tasted thin to me and lacking any fruit, almost more Bordeaux-y than a California Zinfandel.
That being said, this would pair better w/ food than most over-the-top zins.
Dec 23, 2006Reignac Bordeaux Superieur, 2002
Nice full bodied red w/ soft tannins. Good berry flavor and reminds me more of a napa cab than a bordeaux. But hey, what do i really know. Drink now. As in, immediately.
