Jan 17, 2007Fetzer Cabernet Sauvignon Valley Oaks, 2004
I don't know a great deal about wine which leads me to believe that I know what I like. Without having to think of all of the reasons that influence most when deciding what to by, I just went with something that goes down smooth enough to take nice big gulps. I can't say much more about this wine than that it is incredibly smooth and very easy to enjoy. Oh yeah, the price I mentioned is a sale price. Normally the cost would be around $11.00.
Jan 15, 2007Te Kairanga Pinot Noir, 2004
This wine seems to be less than filtered.... with wine crystals stuck to the bottom of the cork, but.....BUT....from what I hear, that's not a bad thing. Upon inital sniff and swig (that's what the experts are calling it these days) my nostrils burned for a brief second and then the magic began....a nice wine that is definitely fruit forward, but with a slightly woodsy aftertaste. Black currant and licorice prevail. Give it a swirly whirl! Cheers!
Jan 15, 2007Fetzer Valley Oaks Gewurztraminer, 2005
Somebody call Germany and tell them that "Gewurz" should stop translating to "spice" and instead to...."cough syrup". Maybe it's just Fetzer, or maybe it's my large volume consumption, but I think it's Fetzer. I always had loved Gewurtztraminer until uncorking this bottle. Serve chilled, serve sparingly, if at all...Cheers!

This wine was a little weak on the palate at first sip, but with a little air and a swallow, the flavors really came to life on the tongue. Hints of vanilla and black cherry with a smooth finish. This is a meritage blend of 2002 and 2003 vintages.
Jan 08, 2007Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut
This is one of my favorite sparkling wines for less than $10. I'm not sure if it's the classy black bottle, or the nice smooth finish. I sported a bottle on New Years and enjoyed it once again.
Jan 08, 2007Ravenswood Zinfandel Vintners Blend, 1998
This wine has a smooth after taste. It's a perfect starter wine for the amatuer wine drinker.
Jan 02, 2007Louis Jadot Pinot Noir, 2004
This wine failed to impress. The taste was flat and bland. I had nearly consumed the entire bottle in a desperate attempt to actually "taste" something to comment about.
Jan 02, 2007Taz Santa Barbara Pinot Noir, 2003
I heard this wine was like "sex in a bottle", and it certainly comes close. It has a strong berry aroma with a distinct woodsy taste. I felt like an elfen fairy floating through an enchanted oak forest......Cheers!
Dec 31, 2006Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio, 2005
Less refined Pinot Grigio than the norm. Aroma is strong yet not as sweet as other pinot grigios I've enjoyed in the past. Pinot Grigios usually taste fresh, fruity, and somewhat sweet, but this does not live up to this expectation. It leaves an acidic aftertaste in the mouth. Might taste better if paired with appropriate cuisine but not very impressive when sipped on its own.

Big finish, full bodied well rounded, spicy as hell, some berry action.
Dec 31, 2006Perrier Jouet Grand Brut
Got a whopper 1.5L for a gift. Nice, but not amazing. Had it for new years 06 -- happy new year friends.
Dec 30, 2006Concha Y Toro Casillero Del Diablo Merlot, 2004
Nice smooth supple tannins. Some berry action but mainly dry and earthy. This is one of the most dependable wines -- concha y toro and especially the "Casillero del Diablo" line. So step.
Dec 30, 2006Pouilly Fuisse, 2005
Very smooth and mild taste. Easy to drink. I mistakenly had this wine with a pizza (with crushed red pepper), so the body of the wine was hard to grab. I recommend having it by itself, on a warm day.
Dec 29, 2006Razor's Edge Shiraz Mclaren Vale, Australia, 2004
Give this baby a few years because it needs it, and prbly more. Have it with a steak paired w/ a lamb chop paired with some cotton to put in your mouth aftewards.
Strong, but nonetheless, if that's your thing then hit it. Fairly well balacned and nice color. Worth it if u find for cheap.
Dec 29, 2006Ravenswood Shiraz Vintners Blend, 2004
Not too bad. Better than their horrid berry-tastic zinfandel which should be labeled a dessert wine. This was a full bodied, strong, tannic and reasonably well rounded shiraz which was better than a yellowtail but worse than (most) penfolds.
Dec 29, 2006Ravenswood Shiraz Vintners Blend, 2004
I was not pleased with the immediate taste of this wine. Way too strong.
Dec 29, 2006Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages
This wine should only be served to those friends who want to avoid a hangover: the fewer tannins the less severe headache. A very light wine and also good for those who are trying to transition from white to red. Thanksgiving is the best time to uncork this light delight! Cheers
Dec 29, 2006Los Cardos Malbec, 2005
I like it. Little to no after taste. This wine helped me make a couple of friends on the street. I had it while breaking up with my boyfriend. Nothing too exciting.
Dec 29, 2006Los Cardos Malbec, 2005
This wine is deeply depressing. Serve only to your most vulnerable friends.....Cheers!
