Dirt/earth. Pretty heavy, it gripped my tongue when I tasted it, a bit overwhelming.

Deep garnet color w/ strawberry on the nose. Plump and clean nice dry finish. Shows a little tannin.

Dark red w/ a bold bouquet. Weak flavor. Slight berries, decent mouthfeel, not great aftertaste.
Mar 23, 2007Franciscan Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Estate, 2003
Dark red w/ high alcohol nose. Legs on glass. Young, numbing on lips. Decent flavor upfront, seems to disappear a bit on back palette. I think with age it could be nice, or if left to breathe for a while.
Mar 23, 2007Casillero Del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon, 2005
Clay like, not quite playdoh. Light and watery w/ no mouthfeel. Spicy.
Mar 23, 2007Beaulieu Vineyard Merlot Coastal, 2004
Juicy, slight spice w/ some tannins. OK at first, then blah. Not to my taste, boring merlot. But some OK juice upfront. Overall, flat impression.
Mar 23, 2007Chateau Souverain Merlot Sonoma, 2004
Cherry pomegranate bouquet. Juicy berries w/ smoky pork and some spice. Bad aftertaste on back palette.
Mar 23, 2007Bogle Merlot, 2004
Dark red w/ spicy black pepper and alcoholy nose. Notes of tobacco and bing cherries. No mouthfeel.
