Apr 29, 2013Cribari Chianti 4L, NV
It's a wonderful NY wine! I really appreciate wines that do not have harsh flavors in the foreground. There are no harsh aromas either, but before you start thinking that it's a sweet wine it is far from it, and is much closer to sour than bitter. I can only say try it, even people who don't like Chianti even like it.

Great for table wine. Didn't't get dry mouth or headache the next morning. Little sweet but wonderful.
Sep 04, 2012Garnet Pinot Noir Carneros, 2009
Really great Pinot from Carneros here, with big flavor and lots of ripe plum/cherry/raspberry and earth tones. For the price, I can't find much better than this.

Sweet with a mild effervesence. Definate muscato with apple notes

Organoleptic properties:
Colour: intense ruby red and excellent concentration and real depth.
Aroma: complex and intense with toasty hints and prunes.
Taste: full-bodied, well structured, fruity and supple.

excellent taste, plus low alcohol content and good price.
What more could one ask for?
Sep 17, 2011Cesar Toxqui Cellars Zinfandel, NV
The Zin from the Toxqui brand was a mix-match of random grapes. Merlot is used mainly for blending, but this Zin had unusual overtones of Merlot and some unidentifiable aftertaste. We discarded most of the contents and dismissed it as another disapointment from this label
Jul 12, 2011Hart & Mcgarry Merlot Napa Valley Usa, 2008
It is during our vacations in Florida that we discovered this very good Merlot, full bodied with fruity taste. Cheese, lamb or grilled chicken are perfect match for this surprising product. Hope to find it at my local Liquor Store back home.

From a low yielding vineyard adjacent to the "Three Palms Vineyard" made famous by Duckhorn Cellars. Deep plummy, currant and cherry fruitwith aromatic floral highlights. Very well balanced and meriting extended cellaring.
May 24, 2011Kay Brothers Shiraz Amery Vineyards Hillside, 2001
Pure, blueberry, boysenberry, floral & vanilla. Lush but compact, with low acidity concealing lots of fruit and spice.
Apr 28, 2011Salvatore Principe All Dat Cabernet Sauvignon, 2007
Very smooth, cheap, well rounded Cab. Scored an 86
Mar 22, 2011Chateau Vari Monbazillac, 2007
Manuel harvest. Very soft pressing and cold settling. Fermentation in 45 hectoliters vats. During the Autumn, the conditions are optimal for the development of Botrytis Cinéréa (noble rot) which allows the concentration of sugar and flavours in the grapes.
It's a fresh, fruity and pure wine with a beautiful structure. It is developing a nice aromas of exotic fruits, pear, grapefruit but also hazelnut and mint. The mouth is deep, balanced and fine.
This wine is a perfect sweety wine with an exellent balance between the roundness and the acidity
Dec 17, 2010Chateau St. Michelle Riesling, 2009
wow, explosive aroma of honey, lemon. Just the right balance of acidity and sweetness. Drink this with trout grilled or other white fish. At this price point it is too bad that there is not more available.
Dec 04, 2010Viansa Sangiovese, 2004
2004 Viansa "Thalia" Sangiovese
Sonoma County.
Deep, full ruby hued with spicy cherry, plum fruit. Medium weight and body with good structure and firm tannins. An excellent value at this price.
Drink now through 2013+.
Tasted December 2010.

I thought this wine was good, for a $20 bottle of wine. i had the same experience with the hyped-up marketing at a local small chain of grocery stores...advertising a $100 bottle of wine for $19.99. I researched it and couldn't find anyone charging more than $22. I complained to the store for their misleading advertising.
Sep 15, 2010Ravenswood Zinfandel Vintners Blend, 2007
Leathery with sharp fruits. The wine has a good medium body. Then finishes watery with bitter spikes.
Sep 14, 2010Dona Sol Merlot, 2008
Maybe I bought the only bad bottle ever produced, but this was as close to vinegar as any wine I've ever tasted. The cork was mostly dry and, as soon as I smelled it, I knew I wouldn't like it.
Jul 26, 2010Chateau De Sancerre, 2008
I am obsessed with this wine! This is one of my favorite white wines to sip day or night. This Sancerre is refreshing, crisp, has great stoned fruits and citrus, its high in acid with great minerality. It wakes up the pallet and has a zesty long finish. This is a well balanced wine. Buy It!
Apr 14, 2010Frost Bitten Ice Wine, 2008
Beautiful aromas of apricot and pineapple. The wine tastes like fruit coctail juice but with some acidity to balance it and less syrupy on the palate. It pair well with bakked brie wrapped in Phyllo dough.
