Another in a string of AMAZING values under the Fairview umbrella. This 2006 offers a nose of ripe red fruit, with a fragrant lift and spice notes. Rich medium body, with subtle oak influences and soft tannins. Red fruit and plums on the palate, with soft tannins. Smooth lingering finish. The wine is ready for drinking. Enjoy over the next year or two. The various, predominantly Rhône varietals were harvested ripe and destalked before being fermented at 25 - 28°C. The 2006 vintage is a blend of primarily Shiraz (50%) and Pinotage (20%) with Cinsaut (10%), Mourvèdre (10%), Grenache (5%) and Carignan (5%) being used to achieve a style consistent with what Goats do Roam has become famous for. The wine is lightly oaked before being carefully blended and bottled. One of Bon Appetit's "Great Bargain Bottles": "This Rhone-style red has soft tannins, black cherry fruit, and a spicy finish."
