1Re: Where do you buy the most wine from?

Have to admit, the question's a bit slanted, in my case...

For my table wine, my *inexpensive favorites*, yes, BevMo is handy.

For something special? Or a bit adventurous? Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant, or an on the spot purchase at the winery that wow'd me.

Ya it's almost a trick question I guess.

We're trying to figure out which stores are deserving of "individual" searches, e.g., in the future our search engine will allow you to limit your searches to a store like BevMo or Costco. We were trying to gauge which stores are the most deserving of a separate search field.

In all honesty, i had to vote "other" because there are so many fine wine shops in this city (including some amazing "bargain" shops as well) that i have little need to go to Traders or Costco to stock up.

Total Wines. They are national and very knowledgable.

The Wine Selection. They have very knowlegable staff that makes recomendations based specificaly on my palate, hundreds of pre-screened, limited release wines, and they stand behind every bottle they recommend. They also have complimentary cellar storage available and ship wine nationwide , which is very convenient and saves a lot of time.

Ya total wine seems to be huge on the east coast. It almost seems like Traders is for the west coast (although Traders is nationwide now I believe).

Maybe we should add Total Wine to the recommendations page (as in, limit the recommendation to wines that are avail at a Total Wines outlet). Only prob is that i think there selection can vary pretty significantly? But so can Traders and the others ...

We used to buy most of our wine at this off-the-wall (and hole in the all for that matter) wine liquidator place called Bargain Bank ... but they're out of business. I'd say now most of my wine is bought at Trader Joe's ... but i have been visiting my local "legit" retailer more often as well (Blackwells Wine & Spirits).
