1Review not available for all search results
Am a bit confused... I just did a search for a wine I had last night - Cain Cuvee NV3 Meritage. Came up on the results page, but no link to post a review was available. Unless I am missing something, this seems to be the only way to post a review. This feature should be a clickable link on your homepage, I think.
Sooo, did a more general search for Cain Cuvee, and a bunch of results came up -- only two that said Meritage had no link to review. So, didn't want to post a review on another less specific one b/c I wasn't sure if it was the right wine.

2Re: Review not available for all search results
Thank you for your inquiry; this is a good question and we are currently working on a solution. Unfortunately, at this time you cannot review every wine in our ever growing database of wines for sale. This is because we're not sure if those wines (that aren't reviewable) were retreived correctly—namely, wines that are rare or only sold at one merchant may have this problem.
The root of the problem is that in the future, when we "re-crawl" the web looking for new wines, those less common wine names may disssapear, hence, your review would dissappear as well. Hopefully, within a month you will be able to review EVERY wine in our database regardless of how rare it is.
In general, if you are looking to review/discuss a particular wine, sorting your wine search results by "Relevancy" should produce the most accurate results. If there are many similar wine names displayed try being more specific by adding more terms to your search.

3Re: Review not available for all search results
Ya sorry this is complicated. Rest assured we're working on allowing users to review every wine.
The initial problem was that lots of the wines we find have "less than perfect" names, either because our own software had a difficult time extracting the wine, or because the wine retailer didn't put the correct/clean name of the wine on their page.
This leads to nasty nasty wine names on our site. And if we let somebody review one of those nasty wine names, then we will have to always keep that nasty wine name into the future (so that we keep your review and/or forum posts which relate to that wine).
Our "fix" was just to not allow reviews on wines that we "weren't so sure about". In this manner we keep the reviews sticking to "nice" wine names only.
However in your case, you find a wine name that actually *was* a quality wine name, but our code deemed it otherwise. This is a problem and we are working on it.
Wow!! Haha, well u can see that it's kind an indepth issue. Hopefully soon we'll have something worked for u. Thanks for contributing!!!

Update, we did a release on 1/29/07 and now all wines are reviewable. If you can find it via the search, you can review it.
