1What Kind of Wine?

Being new to wine, I would like suggestions on some sweet, but not too sweet, and doesn't leave a funny taste in my mouth, wines. Any suggestions? Oh, preferrably white but red ok. Thank you!

2Re: What Kind of Wine?

I would suggest a Riesling from Germany which is a white wine. Specifically look for Rieslings from the Mosel region. They are very easy to drink with just the right amount of sweetness without going overboard. Try this wine...its like 13 bucks a bottle and its a good wine.

SA Prum Essence Riesling from Mosel-Saar-Ruwer

Also, there is a classification for sugar levels in German Rieslings that are pretty easy to understand. For you I would go the Kabinett route.

Kabinett
fully ripened light wines from the main harvest, typically semi-sweet with crisp acidity

Spätlese - meaning "late harvest"
typically semi-sweet, often (but not always) sweeter and fruitier than Kabinett

Auslese - meaning "select harvest"
made from selected very ripe bunches or grapes, typically semi-sweet or sweet

Beerenauslese - meaning "select berry harvest"
made from individually selected overripe grapes often affected by noble rot, making rich sweet dessert wine

Trockenbeerenauslese - meaning "select dry berry harvest" or "dry berry selection"
made from selected overripe shrivelled grapes often affected by noble rot making extremely rich sweet wines

Hi Freedoms,

The wine catgirl mentioned can be found on Vinquire by following the link below. A lot of retailers sell this wine:

Good luck-
